Over 140 Freeware Indie Horror Games, and Creepy Interactive Sites

tenaflyviper:

Looking for a good scare, but don’t have the funds to spend on the latest PC or console splatterfest?  Help yourself to this generous list of 100% FREE horror games to spook yourself silly (please note–these games are not listed in any particular order, and your mileage may vary when it comes to how entertaining you find them).  This list also includes a few creepy interactive websites for added amusement.

image

WARNING:  Some of these games/sites contain jump scares (I will try to tag as many as I can that contain startling moments–sorry if I miss any!), flashing lights, loud noises/music, blood and gore, and other mature content (on the flip side, many of the games containing a few jump scares aren’t entirely reliant on them, so don’t immediately disregard all games featuring these warnings, either.  Said warnings are there to protect those with legitimate conditions that may be put in physical distress from such material).  In any case, PLAYER DISCRETION IS ADVISED (and don’t be afraid to look up further info before jumping into a game).

I’m sure I may have forgotten a few great games or sites, so feel free to add to this list.

Enjoy!

Anonymous asked:
Hey, I'm not sure if this question has been asked before but I love your art and specifically want to know how you draw hair so well? Specifically curly hair. I love hair but I can't seem to draw it all that well. What's your method?

shrylia:

Here’s a quick step-by-step of how I draw hair:

1) Sketch/lineart: I divide hair into various sections, keeping in mind the flow and direction from where it originates on the head. The simplification is usually more effective and clean than drawing every strand individually - it’s especially useful for my sketches since I render everything in the end. Compare:

2) Start with a base colour underneath a sketch. This is the midtone!

image

3) Add a darker version of the midtone on shadowed parts of the hair to create form and dimension.

image

4) Put down a super vibrant highlight colour! I try to use zigzag shapes instead of a flat rectangular patch of light to create a more natural sort of feel.

image

5) Render. I merge all my layers and refine + add details!

image

6) Final step: add a few loose strands, which makes hair look a bit more detailed and less clumpy. If I’m drawing a portrait, then this is the most important step, but if it’s a loose doodle I only add two or three quick brushstrokes to simulate the texture.

As for curly hair types, I apply the same technique. The curliness comes down to the shape of the locks of hair:

What I keep in mind when drawing curly hair is 1) limiting the amount of highlights and details, simplifying wherever I can, 2) adding lots of variety with the size, shape, and direction of different locks, and 3) making very loose brushstrokes. Curly hair varies a LOT though, so I’m sorry I can’t be more specific! Good luck 💗
